Rev. Harry Shumacher accepted the call and the North American Baptist Conference assisted in the mission support and the work officially began January of 1968.
Prince Philip School on Vine Street was the first place of regular meetings and a few months later LAKESHORE Baptist Church became the official name. By the end of 1969 our church was officially organized and a constitution was formed.

Rev. Wilfred Dickau was pastoring our church at the time ground breaking occurred in November 1972 and the first meetings were held in the newly built facility by Sept 1973. The official date of dedication was recorded as June 15, 1974.
In April of 1967, the vision of another Canadian Church plant in St. Catharines became a reality through the Church Extension of Forest Park, Illinois.
Through the last forty years many men of God have blessed our congregation with their humble service through ministry.
Souls have been saved, baptisms have followed and missions supported. Church members have volunteered giving of their talents, time and treasure to further the Gospel of Christ.
May God bless each one as each has given unto the Lord!
